Our Story

Sean started making candles in 2013 when he struggled to find high quality, unique homewares for guys. Having grown up and working alongside his parents in the family owned local hardware store in the rapidly growing suburbs of Western Sydney, Sean took inspiration from his surroundings to come up with a different concept for candles. He decided to pour a candle into a 250ml paint tin and the Stone.Wood.Wax brand was born.

Stone.Wood.Wax opened their first retail space in Brisbane's iconic Winn Lane in 2016, which served as a platform for connecting with the wider creative community. In the same year, the small but growing business got accepted into the highly renowned The Finders Keepers Market in both Melbourne and Brisbane, with overwhelming response. The end of the year saw the business enter various creative collaborations, one of them being with Byron Bay artist Diana Miller, creating her own range of soy wax candles and diffuser reeds.

In 2017, Stone.Wood.Wax went through a re-branding process and became Field - Issue. Field - Issue stands for premium, hand crafted homewares and personal care products for guys who love the outdoors and a good adventure.

Our philosophy is to express and encourage creativity, freedom and exploration through our products. We continue to hand pour each and every single one of our candles and diffuser reeds, making each of them unique. Quality is our mantra, and we appreciate the process it takes to make something special and lasting for your home.
